In the first year of the struggle against the Russian occupation of Donbass, Safon fought for some time as a member of the Aidar volunteer battalion. He served in the brigade together with friends from his hometown. He won side by side with his countrymen the rotation near Avdiivka, and then - in the Luhansk direction.
