The Ministry of Health has predicted the peak of the third wave of coronavirus in Ukraine

The Ministry of Health predicted that a peak number of coronavirus patients is expected in Ukraine in mid-April.

This was stated by the Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov in the talk show "Right to Power", reports UNIAN.

He stated that according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Health in Ukraine there is a very tense period and a significant increase in the number of patients.

"We expect another week, 10 days - we think we will still grow somewhere in the range of 25-30 thousand, based on how the epidemic develops," - said the minister.

In early March, the Prime Minister Denis Shmigal stated that in Ukraine the third wave of coronavirus began. He added that in this regard, there is a threat of a new hard lockdown.

Today, 11 regions of Ukraine are in the "red" zone of epidemic danger. However, a nationwide lockdown has not yet been introduced.

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that the "British" strain of coronavirus "Terrorizes" Ukraine. According to the Minister, the "British" strain is more contagious, "younger", with a high percentage of complications and a severe clinical picture.

According to the Worldometers service, as of April 7, Ukraine ranked first in Europe in terms of mortality from COVID-19.
