The establishment of the Center for Spiritual and Psychological Support became relevant after the introduction of quarantine measures related to the pandemic of coronavirus infection COVID-19.
The idea of creating a Center for spiritual and psychological assistance to the population in stressful conditions belongs to the representatives of Lesyn University and the Volyn Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
"Today's pandemic is not only a medical problem, but also, to a large extent, an emotional and psychological problem. And the longer the quarantine, the more psycho-emotional problems will arise. Our employees are ready to come to the aid of anyone who needs support, "said the rector of the Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University. Anatoly Tsyos.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Sociology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Tamara Duchyminska explained that today the population is in an atypical stressful situation, and panic from the spread of the virus, increased quarantine, prolonged stay at home lead to a deterioration of the general psycho-emotional state: the emergence of negative emotions, increased stress and more.
According to the head of the Faculty of Psychology and Sociology, sleep may also be disturbed, fears may be actualized, irritation, anxiety may increase, fatigue may increase, and so on. All this affects the physical condition and mood, affects work and relationships, especially in the family.
"The current situation creates a special demand for psychological science and practicing psychologists, because not everyone can cope with the effects of stress. Therefore, responding to the request of society, the Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University in cooperation with the Volyn Diocesan Office of the PCU decided to establish a Center for spiritual and psychological support of the population in stressful situations, "said Tamara Duchyminska.
From today, anyone who wants to get help from a psychologist or a priest can contact the hotline of the Center for providing spiritual and psychological assistance to the population in stressful situations.

Specialists are ready to work with citizens between 10:00 and 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.
Specialists will help:
- understand the causes of destructive behavior, try to eliminate or at least reduce the negative factors;
- rethink what is happening, understand yourself, find the causes of stress;
- understand what to do to avoid such reactions in the future;
- to survive quarantine within the family, which in today's situation is a difficult task; learn to find the opportunity to isolate themselves in the family space, to determine personal boundaries;
- learn to be together without losing yourself; properly build and organize relationships with children, with the older generation.
